ABOUT US:
Here at Garage Beer, we take light beer seriously and everything else lightly. We proudly embrace our role as the underdog in a category that often forgets beer is supposed to be fun. With a 200% growth in social media followers in just the last year and an expanding network of distribution, we continue to be the fastest growing beer brand in the country! No jargon, no ego, no overthinking it. Just crisp, easy drinking beer made for the garage and everywhere else.

ABOUT YOU:
You show up for the moments that matter, whether that’s collaborating with the team, building something new, or just making the day-to-day better. You’re dependable, self-aware, and easy to work with. At the end of the day, we’re not looking for perfection. We’re looking for real people who care about doing good work and having a good time. We don’t take ourselves too seriously and neither should you!

JOB TITLE:  Senior Vice President, Marketing

LOCATION:
Ideal job location is in Columbus, Ohio

WHAT YOU WILL OWN:

Brand Strategy & Positioning
  • Scale the Garage Beer brand — voice, identity, and positioning — across every consumer touchpoint, while protecting the Founder’s creative vision for the company.
  • Develop the long-term brand strategy that keeps us distinct as we scale our messaging from digital to national retail.
  • Champion the culture and community that makes Garage Beer more than just a beer.
  • Plan and own all marketing campaigns, ensuring a seamless link between creative, digital and retail marketing.

Digital & Performance Marketing
  • Build and scale the digital marketing engine: paid social, search, email, influencer, and affiliate.
  • Drive profitable customer acquisition and retention across DTC channels.
  • Establish the data infrastructure and analytics capability to make fast, evidence-based decisions.
  • Own the e-commerce experience and conversion funnel end to end.

Retail & Shopper Marketing
  • Develop strategy for retail expansion, working closely with Chief Revenue Officer and key distributor partners.
  • Build the shopper marketing capability — from trade activation programs to in-store execution.
  • Partner with key retail accounts to co-develop campaigns and increase shelf presence and velocity.

Communications & Partnerships
  • Oversee PR and earned media strategy to drive brand awareness and cultural relevance.
  • Manage agency and creative partner relationships, holding them to a high bar for output.
  • Identify and manage influencer partners.
Team & Function Building
  • Design, recruit, and develop a high-performing marketing team as the business scales.
  • Build the processes, tools, and budget discipline necessary to scale while staying nimble.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Operations to ensure marketing is fully integrated with the business.

Budget & Analytics
  • Manage & track budgets across all marketing functions.
  • Set KPIs and track performance metrics (ROI).

EXPERIENCE:
  • 8+ years of marketing leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role (VP or SVP level) at a fast-growth consumer goods or CPG company.
  • Proven track record of building brands from early stage through national retail distribution.
  • Deep expertise in digital and performance marketing — you have built and scaled DTC channels before.
  • Hands-on experience navigating the transition from digitally native brand to retail, including trade marketing and shopper marketing.
  • Experience building and leading marketing teams from scratch; you've hired great people and developed them.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in beer / alcohol with a high-growth supplier, an understanding of the 3-tier system and experience creating retail-driven marketing programs.

SKILLS & APPROACH:
  • Equal parts brand builder and performance marketer — you hold creative and commercial thinking in the same hand.
  • Data-driven decision maker who can move fast without losing sight of long-term brand equity.
  • Excellent communicator who can inspire a team, influence a board, and write a brief that creative teams love.
  • Scrappy and resourceful — you know how to produce disproportionate impact with a lean budget.
  • Deep understanding of the beer, beverage, or adjacent consumer category is a strong advantage.

WHAT WE OFFER:
  • Impactful Work: Fast-moving environment where you can actually see your ideas come to life instead of getting stuck in layers of meetings.
  • Our Culture: A place where we’re building a fast-growing beer brand while making sure work is still fun.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Currently, our medical, dental, vision, and short-term disability premiums are paid at 100% by Garage Beer. We also offer a 401(k) savings plan, voluntary benefits and an EAP and are continually evaluating our benefit offerings.
  • Flexible Time Off: We offer a flexible PTO policy so you can take the time you need to recharge, in addition to company-observed holidays.
Garage Beer is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for our team members.
